MARRIAGE REGISTRATION PROCESS IN DELHI

 Hello friends today we shall talk about the procedure for registration of marriage in Delhi.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • The marriage must have been solemnized either under the Hindu Marriage Act or under the Special Marriage Act,
  • The Groom must have attained the minimum age of 21 years.
  • The bride must be of the age of 18 years at least.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  • Photo ID proofs of both the parties like Aadhar card / PAN card / Voter card
  • Date of birth proofs of both parties like 10th certificate, etc.
  • Permanent address proof must be there .
  • Marriage photographs and Invitation Card.
  • Passport Size Photographs of both parties.
  • 2 witness in case marriage registered under Hindu Marriage Act or 3 witnesses in case it is registered under the Special Marriage Act along with their respective proofs like PAN CARD/ AADHAR CARD etc.
  • An affidavit from both parties certifying the date of their marriage and more specifically stating that the marriage has not been performed between persons falling under the prohibited degree of relationship.

 

ONLINE PROCESS

  1. · Once you have arranged all the above mentioned documents at one place, you can just log on to the official website of DelhiDistrict
  2.    When you open the site, there you will find an option new user or registered user. 
  3.     Incase you have already registered yourself you can proceed further or else you first need to click on new user and register yourself with the help of your aaadhar card or voter i card.
  4.    Once you complete this process, now you can click on apply for services and thereupon you can select registration of marriage.
  5.   Thereafter, you can fill in the application form provided there, and then upload all the necessary documents as asked thereupon.
  6.     After completing the process, you can submit the form and follow steps therein to complete the process.
  7.      After that you get an option to select the time slot as per your convenience and will also be intimated the place of registrar’s office as per your details.
  8.      Then you can choose the appropriate slot and also download the acknowledgment receipt and keep it with yourself to carry on the date of registration.
  9.    Once it is done, then you have to reach at the selected registrar’s office on time and date already fixed by you during your online registration process.
  10.     You need to carry all the documents which you have uploaded in originals.
  11.      The witnesses whose details have been entered by you shall also accompany you on the date fixed along with their documents like PAN CARD / AADHAR CARD, etc. in original.
  12.     Make sure that along the originals you also carry one set of the entire documents duly self attested.
  13.     Now after your documents are verified, then your particulars will be entered into the register and you will be given your marriage certificate.
